Accreditation

The Media Institutes are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges, or ACCSC. Since 1967 ACCSC has been at the forefront of advancing quality education at private, post secondary career schools and colleges.

ACCSC enforces strict standards and practices, which contribute to the development of a highly trained and competitive workforce through accredited institutions. Their mission is to serve as a reliable authority on educational quality and to promote enhanced opportunities for students.

ACCSC is recognized by the United States Department of Education as an independent non-profit accrediting agency. ACCSC's dedication to ensuring a quality education for more than 200,000 students annually ensures that students can never make a bad decision choosing to pursue their career education at one of the Media Institute's campuses.

Transferring Credits

Transferring credits from other post-secondary institutions must be requested and approved before the student begins his or her first semester at a Media Institute campus. A Transfer of Credit Form must be obtained from the Media Institute and completed. The form must be submitted with an official copy of college or university transcripts and a copy of transfer course descriptions found in the institution’s course catalog or on the relevant course’s syllabus.

Requests for transfer credit will be evaluated and approved or denied based on the following criteria:

  • The course was taken at an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • The course was worth at least 2 semester credits.
  • A grade of B or better was earned.
  • The course content matches the content of the Media Institute course.
  • The course was taken recently enough so that the information presented in the course and any technological components of the course are sufficiently current.

Approval of transfer of credit is at the discretion of Media Institute officials as guided by aforementioned criteria. The Media Institute is not obligated to approve transfer of credit from any other post-secondary institution under any circumstances. If advance standing is granted, total tuition, as well as the maximum time for completion, will be adjusted accordingly.
