Madison Media Institute participated in NBC 15 Share Your Holidays Food Drive and The Salvation Army Giving Tree this year. Students and staff gathered non perishable food items and cash donations for Second Harvest Food Bank, as well as toys for needy children in the Madison area.

MMI teamed up with NBC 15, Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin, and several local businesses to take part in the annual Share Your Holidays Food Drive. Thanks to the students and staff that participated, MMI was able to donate 11,743 meals. In addition to donating meals, MMI’s participation was also intended to help student’s become more aware of hunger in the community.

Students and staff also had the opportunity to provide toys for local children through The Salvation Army Giving Tree project. Holiday trees were set up at MMI, with angel tags that listed a name, age and gift for a Madison area child in need. Participants were instructed to purchase the gift listed on the tag, wrap it and placed it under the giving tree. On December 20th the fifty gifts were delivered to the Salvation Army.
