Madison Media Institute is proud to be partnering with WKOW 27 to sponsor the Wizard World Madison Comic Con! The event will take place at the Alliant Energy Center on February 6, 7 and 8. Wizard World bills the event as a pop culture extravaganza featuring the best of movies, comics, toys, video games, TV, graphic novels, wrestling, MMA, anime and much more. Headliners include William Shatner ("Star Trek"), Brett Dalton ("Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."), Emily Kinney and Josh McDermitt ("The Walking Dead'), WWE Divas The Bella Twins, Kristin Bauer ("True Blood," "Once Upon A Time"), Eliza Dushku ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") and George Wendt ("Cheers"). Wizard World also says the event is the place for cosplay, with fans showing off their best costumes throughout the weekend.{C}{C}{C}

Jeff Butler Jeff Butler Self Portrait MMI Game Art & Animation Instructor Jeff Butler will have a table in the "Artist Alley" at the event. Jeff is an illustrator, comic book and video game artist who has been working professionally for over 30 years. He broke into the comic book field in the early ‘80s, helping writer Mike Baron create "The Badger" for Capital Comics. Jeff spent 5 years in the world famous art department of TSR, Inc., the creators of Dungeons&Dragons. At TSR, he illustrated many D&D and DragonLance game products and was also the primary artist for the Marvel Superheroes Role Playing Game. In 1989, Jeff teamed with writer Ron Fortier to bring The Green Hornet back to comic books. Jeff would go on to illustrate other comics: The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Hercules and Xena, Charles Barkley vs. Godzilla, Jason vs. Leatherface, to name a few. His art has been featured nationally in TV Guide and The Children’s Television Workshop magazines, as well as on numerous posters, puzzles and coloring books. Jeff also applied his talents in the video game industry as a 2D and 3D character designer and concept artist. He was the Lead Character Artist for games like X-Men Legends I & II and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. He has worked on 12 AAA video games, most recently: Marvel Origins: Wolverine and Singularity. Representatives from Madison Media Institute will be on hand all 3 days of the event, stop by our booth to learn more about our programs and meet some of our talented Game Art & Animation instructors!
