DID YOU KNOW….. Paul Peterson will be traveling to Las Vegas to do a recording session and also perform with his brother Ricky at the Palms with Sante Fe and the Fat City Horns on Monday night. FUN! Sometimes it is all fun and games. EAV as part of its Networking class has a LAN Party gaming session. The students setup and configure the network. Tim Briggs from the Edgewood College IT Department was the guest speaker for the day and talks about many IT related facets of the residential gaming. OPPORTUNITY in MINNEAPOLIS!

HOW COOL IS THIS…… Cory Wong, Minneapolis Faculty, is on the road with Americas Troubadour, Larry Long for a series of gigs this weekend. AND THIS IS SO COOL…. The Reptile Palace Orchestra are having their CD Release Party May 25 at the High Noon Saloon to celebrate "Songs & Dances of Madisonia." WORT 89.9fm is sponsoring the show. The album was recorded by students and instructors in Recording Class at MMI from 2009-2011. PROJECT 911!

DID YOU KNOW? On Friday May 11th, the EAV department instructors and several students visited an AV design-build integrator firm in the Chicagoland area.  The students got an up close and intimate tour of the technical and business side of the facility and the interaction with the technology on hand was exciting for everyone!  The students also had quite a time networking and forming relationships with professionals in the industry. VOLUNTEER!

New Music Monday

By Mike Bailey Matt Ward is a singer-songwriter from Portland, OR. Over the last decade he’s quietly become one of the standard bearers of hipster folk. Though he takes a lo-fi approach, recording much of his material on a 4-track recorder, his mainstream popularity increased in recent years with two high profile collaborations; Monsters of Folk, with Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes), and She & Him with quirky starlet, Zooey Deschanel.
