The Media Institute's Associate of Applied Science Degree in Digital Art & Design can provide you with the hands-on technical training, practical experience and professional skills you need pursue a professional career in this exciting field.
Students in this program develop a solid grounding in fundamental design principles including drawing, layout, color and typography as well as how to work with images, digital art and symbols to create messages that both inform and persuade audiences.

Hands-On Training on Important Industry Software
The Digital Art & Design classroom at The Media Institute houses 16 Mac workstations which feature industry standard design software from the Adobe® Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Collection, including applications such as:
- Photoshop®
- Illustrator®
- InDesign®
- Dreamweaver®
- Flash®
- After Effects®
- Acrobat® Pro
You'll receive training on web hosting software including MySQL, Apache, and PHP, and Apple Keynote presentation software.
Access to Specialty Equipment
As a Digital Art & Design student you'll have access to a variety of equipment including the Nikon D80 DSLR, Canon rangefinder, Speedotron Studio Flash, studio soft boxes, and shooting table for Photography. We also have an Epson GT-20000 Flatbed Scanner with a 12 x 17 inch Scanning Area at 600 x 1200 dpi Resolution and an Epson Stylus Photo R1900 Inkjet Printer with the ability to print up to 13" wide and up to 44" long at a resolution of 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi.

Digital Art School and Web Design school graduates typically pursue positions in graphic design, web design, and design for print and related art/design fields. As a skilled Graphic Designer you may work in a variety of interesting positions, including:
