OUT IN THE COMMUNITY!

On April 19th MMI instructors Nella Citino, Robert Gee and Tim Mickleburgh joined Hanah Jon Taylor in the Chula Vista Resort to act as judges in the 2012 SkillsUSA contest. They judged high school students competing in the categories TV and Video Production, Advertising Production and 3D Animation, and were impressed by the high standards of the winning entries. Hanah Jon Taylor was on hand to inform interested students of the opportunities available at MMI.

DID YOU KNOW?

Ben Obi just completed a mix on a Remix of RCA recording artist, Usher’s single – Climax. The remix was produced by Minneapolis based producer DJ Unwind.

GREAT NEWS!

Deena is happy to report that the Title IV audit concluded with only one finding!  Congratulations to everyone at MMI.

The auditors review not only the financial aid students receive for accuracy, they review how we report consumer information, if we have the required admission documents on file, if accounting posts funds to student ledger within the required timelines, if attendance is accuracy kept, if SAP regulations are met and the list goes on.

Again this year, we received positive comments from the audit team and in addition, they told us how impressed they are with our campus security drills and the logs both campuses keep!

OPPORTUNITY!
Steve Yeager is in Cupertino, California, study LOGIC at Apple!  He will be considered T3 certified and this will allow us to be a certified training and certification facility!  Thanks Steve!

HOW COOL IS THIS!

MMI sponsored the first annual “Wrap Around the Capitol,” an anti-sexual violence event that took place on April 28th. MMI hired Red Square Audio to provide the P.A. system, and  help came from students A.J. Loken, Matt Naselli, Jonathan Schaub and Teaching Assistants Audrey Almaraz and Sarah Dorheim Davis, all of whom did a great job on a cold, drizzly day. MMI graduate Eric Lein, who works for Red Square Audio, ran the console for the event. The same crew also helped an event that took place the same afternoon, “Unite Against the War on Women.”

Later in the day, A.J.  and Jonathan made there way over to the Alliant Energy center to be part of the audio crew during the filming of the Madtown Throwdown, a mixed martial arts event that took place on Saturday evening. They were joined by students Chris Rake and Liz Penzotti.   Check out the pics!
