Refund Policy

Three Business day Cancellation Privilege

Students may cancel an enrollment agreement by mailing a written notice to the school postmarked no later than the third business day after the date they have signed the enrollment agreement and have made their deposit, or by delivering such written notice to the school by 5:00 p.m. of the third business day after they have signed the enrollment agreement and paid their deposit. If cancelled within the time frame previously stated, a full refund will be made of any advance payment or deposit. The three-business-day cancellation privilege applies only to a student's first semester of enrollment. If a student cancels their enrollment, the school shall make all refunds available within 10 business days of receipt of the notice of cancellation.

Refunds/Charges

If a student has not visited the school facility before enrollment, he or she will have the opportunity to withdraw without penalty within three days after either the regularly scheduled orientation, or after a tour of the school facilities and inspection of equipment.

If a student withdrawals or is dismissed after the expiration of the three-business-day cancellation period, and before the end of the first week of classes in any term, the charge to the student will be $100.

Refund Calculation

If a student withdraws or is dismissed after the first week of classes, but on or before completing 60% of a course(s), the number of weeks that make up the period of enrollment for which the student has been charged will be divided into the number of weeks left in the term as of the student's last recorded day of attendance. The resulting decimal will be converted to a percentage and the percentage will be rounded down to the nearest ten percent. This percentage applied to the charges for the period of enrollment, minus a $100 administrative fee, will be the amount of refund to which the student is entitled. After the student's first term of enrollment, the administrative fee will be the lesser of either 15% of the total tuition for the course(s) or $400.

Distribution of Refunds to Financial Aid Sponsors

All or a portion of any refund due may be paid to sponsors furnishing grants, loans, scholarships, or other financial aid to students, in conformity with federal and state laws, regulations and rules, and requirements of financial aid sponsors. After any disbursements to financial aid sponsors have been made, the student shall receive the balance, if any, of the amount due under the school's refund policy.

Time Frame for Refunds

Refunds due as a result of a student's official notice, or of unofficial notice of withdrawal from the program, will be made within 30 calendar days from the date that the notice of withdrawal is received by the school. If a student is dismissed, the refund due will be made within 30 days of the date of dismissal.

All payments made by an applicant will be refunded if the school rejects the applicant. Refunds due to rejected applicants will be paid within 30 days of the date of the applicant's notice of rejection.

In the case of a student's prolonged illness, an accident, a death in the family, or other circumstance that makes it impractical to complete a course, the school shall make a settlement that is reasonable and fair to both the student and the school. In other refund situations resulting from cancellations not falling within the purview of the above provisions, MMI will refer to the rules of the Educational Approval Board for refunds as found in the Wisconsin Administrative Code.
