DID YOU KNOW….. Dan Phillips was on WTDY radio today to talk about the Cell Phone Film Festival.  He  was able to plug the school, and our sponsors, as well as to explain the importance of such artistic showcases to be available to kids today.  The festival registration is live and is open to Madison and Minneapolis students, as well as high school students from southern Wisconsin.  I've sent out invites to 45 high schools looking for participants and there is a Facebook page.  We have students registering already. GO CHECK THEM OUT….. The Minneapolis campus has received 3 promotional pairs of headphones from Sennheiser thanks to Tim Anderson. They will all be kept in the FR400 at the lab desk, and added to the "auxiliary checkout sheet" in the near future. The HD650 model is to be checked out to instructors/staff only, while the other two models; HD280 and HD380 are available for student checkout. Please encourage students to try the 280s and 380s and let me know if you have any questions. WAY TO GIVE BACK! Yesterday, Will Nimmow, attended the Foundation for Madison's Public School Circle of Friends Luncheon, basically, a fund-raising event for the foundation, and a time to show all the great work the foundation does for Madison Public Schools. He has been volunteering with the foundation, with about 4 different students at MMI, to help produce the videos that were displayed at the luncheon. Throughout the event, many speakers gave special thanks to Madison Media Institute and it's students for helping with the videos and the event. Madison Media Institute was also listed in the event catalog under the "Special Thanks" section (which every attendee was given). It was a great event of about 700 teachers, administrators and local business owners. CONGRATULATIONS! Heyyyyy! So Benjamin Beard, Minneapolis grad,  is entering the Air Force Reserves to be a Media Specialist, using his degree through MMI doing audio/video recording and editing for the military.  They are also helping him pay back his students loans in return for his service. We make thing happen EVERY DAY!
