Field Trip to 100State 100State is a co-working space for problem solvers, creatives and entrepreneurs. It's a space that creates community and inspires collaboration while creating connections to unleash our community’s potential. They work hard to engage others in a new model of innovation that helps the world navigate the evolving human experience of the 21st century. With a mission like that – MMI just had to go there and check it out.

Armed with a team of stellar MMI students we met downtown at the working space of 100State – which is at 30 W. Mifflin St. Our goal: to figure out what the heck this space could mean to MMI students and graduates! When you enter the foyer of 100State you just knew you were in a space that would promote creativity. 100State Foyer       100State Phone Booth From the foyer to the private phone booths (you provide the phone), the space is edgy, creative and radiates energy. While there we heard and met entrepreneurs running their own companies from Marketing firms, to virtual reality companies to high-tech agencies with technology so new they are one of their kind and just returned from a special event with the President!  Along the way we met Felix, a marketing mogul who had a very interesting conversation with Career Services Director Laura Mael on why business cards are useless (Felix’s view, not Laura’s). If you are thinking about running your own freelance business or maybe you already do and you’re looking for a space to work from – this is it.  With reasonable monthly membership fees and access to some of the most brilliant minds in our community – 100State is it!  Not only does the space offer a creative environment to grow your business in but it also offers wifi, office space, conference room access, shared desk areas, locker rooms, copy services, mail reception, mentoring, networking, brainstorming, events and more!  Monthly fees range from $20/mo (student rate, standard rate is $50/mo) to $165/mo (this one includes a dedicated desk and locking cabinet!) If you missed the field trip and want to learn more check out their website at What’s next for Career Chats?
