Students from Mound Westonka High School came to Minneapolis Media Institute Open House Saturday April  9th, 2016.  The ensemble choir group (Sarah Brammer, Joseph Colianni, Shelby Cooper and Nick Drilling) stopped by to record the song, “Calling My Children Home”, arranged by Joseph H Jennings.

Recording and Sound Technician

This was the first time this group had been in a recording studio with a sound technician.  They were very excited for the opportunity to experience a real recording session.  Minneapolis Media Institute instructor Dugan McNeill and Audio & Recording Art student Kari Wagner were not only kind enough to record the students, but took the time to teach them about a recording session, tracking music in ProTools and mixing the vocals. Become a Recording and Sound Technician

Sound is one of the most powerful mediums we have to convey meaning, emotion and energy. From recording the music of a band, to the voice of a documentarian, to the speech of a politician, the variety of live sound recordings is endless. The Recording and Live Sound program could prepare students for entry-level work as a sound or recording technician. If you or your school is interested in coming to the school to have your choir recorded or have an interest in becoming a sound technician, please contact Madison and Minneapolis Media Institute
